San Juan Regional Medical Center (SJRMC), a non-profit and community owned/operated hospital located in the beautiful San Juan River Valley in northwest New Mexico, is conducting a nationwide search for their next Chief Information (CIO).
The CIO is a strategic position that will drive the health system forward by creating operational stability and reliability in their Information Technology, maximizing their value from investments in supplier partnerships, growing and supporting a data-driven, decision-making capability and culture, and directing future technology innovation, analytics, digital health, cyber security, and infrastructure investments. The CIO has ultimate accountabilities for all things IT, including IT steerage, operations, and organizational strategy. The CIO will closely collaborate in partnership with the client leader and a wide array of stakeholders in the constant pursuit of creative vitality and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team, expected to fulfill a broader executive role as a senior leader of SJRMC.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Define vision and strategy for SJRMC Information Technology that aligns to SJRMC’s strategic goals; Engage with senior levels (e.g. Senior Leadership Team, Board, Corporation), to impart vision and build support for IT strategies to enable SJRMC’s strategic goals
Provide leadership and vision in developing information/telecommunication services strategies that support the business objectives and clinical needs of the organization
Design, implement, and maintain systems and services that meet customer needs for access, speed, reliability, accuracy, efficiency, and integration across the continuum
Establish standards for Information Technology and telecommunications
Develop and maintain a highly motivated, technically skilled, customer-oriented service team to support existing/emerging technologies and applications
Negotiate all hardware and software contracts and act as principal vendor liaison for all system negotiations, implementation, maintenance, and contract renewals
Prepare, administer, and manage the operational budget for Information Technology and telecommunications to ensure that budgeted goals are achieved and cost/quality objectives are met. Additionally, prepare and manage IT capital budget
Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL and COBIT.
Cloud Technology – across vendors, not only Oracle Health (Cerner)
Capable in migration of solutions and services to cloud-based platforms for better performance and ROI
