The Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center is seeking a full time neuroanesthesiologist. Ideal candidates will be BC/BE in Anesthesiology, have a commitment to teaching and research, and be fellowship trained in Neuroanesthesiology (or have significant experience and expertise in the field). Neurocritical Care experience would be an asset but is not required.
Responsibilities will include providing clinical care to neurosurgical patients, including a growing volume of both patients undergoing cortical mapping and those having endovascular procedures
Participation in resident and fellow education, including simulation and advanced airway management.
Faculty will have opportunity to participate in and/or develop research and quality improvement projects. Leadership opportunities may be available for the interested and qualified applicant.
The Division of Neuroanesthesiology is nationally recognized for excellence in basic neuroscience research, clinical research, and neuroanesthesia education, including the neurosurgical anesthesiology fellowship, accredited by the ICPNT.
The Division covers a large and rapidly growing neurosurgical (all subspecialties) and interventional neuroradiology practice. Intraoperative MRI & CT imaging and endovascular neuroradiology suites increase the range of surgical capabilities and are integral to the neuroanesthesia practice. Duke University Hospital is a Level I trauma center, a JCAHO Certified Stroke Center, and home of the world-renowned Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center.
