The registered Sonographer will provide ultrasound services, timely and efficiently, at appropriate levels to all patients and in all settings served by the department.The registered Sonographer will also perform tasks and duties as outlined in the Imaging Services Department?s Policy and Procedure Manual and will assist in assigned administrative task. Verifies patient and procedural information; prepares patients for exams; educates patients and family members; performs exams; processes films and communicates and transmits reports to physicians; complies and organizes data for radiologist; files films, stocks, prepares and cleans exam rooms; may schedule patients for procedures and transport patients.The registered Sonographer will maintain clinical competencies through participation in Hospital and Departmental educational and orientation programs.
Qualifications
A.Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Certification- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in a least one of the advanced certifications, but preferably two.
Certification-Basic Life Support (CPR) with in 7 days of hire
