With a legacy beginning in 1902, Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College has a strong tradition of educating health care professionals.

Role Purpose
In accordance with the Mission and Vision of Goldfarb School of Nursing the Undergrad Director is responsible for the day to day oversight and supervision of the program. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs. This position provides leadership to set of faculty for the either the Duncan or West Campus including all program evaluation and academic program support. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs sets program class size/targets in consideration of budgeting and evaluation of the accelerated or upper division BSN program. Assures the effective development and operation of the Accelerated program.
Responsibilities
Provides direct supervision to a core group of faculty assigned to each program, collaborating to identify faculty skills and abilities required for successful program/curricular administration.
Partners with the academic advisor to manage student issues and concerns on operational issues, and secures input and feedback on matters related to student non-compliance, poor performance (didactic and clinical).
Orients and provides guidance to assigned faculty (including adjuncts) to ensure that hiring/rank and promotion, curriculum, and student affairs issues are addressed based on the use of objective data, strategic and operational planning, and scholarship expectations in collaboration with the Assistant Dean.
Advises the faculty curriculum committee on opportunities for curriculum development, modification, and enhancements for existing and new programs, consistent with the mission of the College in collaboration with the Assistant Dean and Dean.
Serves on the undergraduate faculty council, provides input into faculty scheduling, and evaluates faculty performance; acts as a role model and mentor for faculty in areas of best practices, accreditation, customer service, communication, and professionalism.
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
