Under the direct supervision of the Manager, and/or House Supervisor performs physician order transcription, general clerical and communication duties on assigned unit in accordance with hospital policies, procedures and standard of care. Is responsible for observing monitors for cardiac rhythms and reports alterations in pattern to the primary RN and/or House Supervisor.

High School graduate or equivalent
Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Observe Cardiac Monitors. Demonstrates competency in detecting cardiac rhythm changes and report to the Registered Nurse immediately.
Completes Patient Classification Summary Sheet.
Processes medical record/referral information for patients transferred to other health care agencies or home care service.
§ Schedules diagnostic examinations and tests with the appropriate department and notifies involved participants.
§ Answers telephone and records and communicates messages to health care team in a timely manner.
§ Answers patient call system and is responsible for notifying nursing personnel of patient need.
Monitors medical record for completion of forms.Â

Monitors and orders department’s clerical supplies.
