The role you’ll contribute:
Under the direction of a pharmacist, the pharmacist technician performs pharmacy related functions in compliance with hospital/department policies and procedures working to provide optimal care.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Assist Pharmacy Buyer in keeping list of medications for order each day
- When the Pharmacy Buyer is out of the office, the technician will scan the drug order when received from the wholesaler, place on the shelf and place new order for the following day
- Maintain all refrigerator, cleaning, temperature and hood logs at the beginning and end of each shift
- Fill the IV or PO medications from the Batch report by 3pm daily
- Promptly respond to all requests from Nursing listed in the Medication Request Queue in PowerChart
- Deliver STAT and NOW medications within 15 minutes of request time
- Deliver missing medications on the hour to each nursing unit
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Minimum qualifications:
- PTCB Certification or Certified through a Nationally recognized organization required
- State Board of Pharmacy Registration required
