Overview
This position performs all functions related to the receiving, shipping, and distribution of materials and supplies for the hospital central supply department.

Responsibilities
Receives incoming orders and verifies orders are accurate and intact, including special orders. Documents and communicates damage, shipping errors, and/or other discrepancies. Inputs supplies received and prints receiving ticket(s). Applies property tags when applicable and notifies appropriate party for items requiring electrical safety inspection.Audits incoming orders for accuracy, proper storage, temperature, and/or damage; resolves discrepancies in orders; marks items for distribution; and prepares various receiving and shipping documents.Distributes orders to appropriate departments on a timely basis.Prepares outgoing material for shipping, including all returns and repairs. Assures that packages are properly labeled and that a purchase order, return goods authorization, and/or materials disposition accompanies each package.Enters returns and substitution receipts information into the materials management information system. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Requires reading, writing and mathematical skills.
A broad understanding of medical supplies and materials items and handling requirements as normally acquired through two or more years of related work with shipping & receiving and medical supplies. May be required to possess a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the company's auto insurance policy.
Must have effective organizational skills to accurately maintain records and coordinate various inventory control functions, the mathematical skills to calculate quantities and pricing, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Accurate keyboarding ability and a working knowledge of the
Materials Management Information System is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment is preferred.
