Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor - Molecular Lab.
In this role, the successful candidate Supervises technologists and ensures the proper performance of all workflows and procedures in the Molecular Pathology laboratory. Ensures regulatory compliance for the molecular pathology laboratory and implements the laboratory specific Quality control programs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the necessary reagents are available for the performance of clinical tests.
- Provide orientation to all testing personnel, documentation of training and annual evaluation or performance for all testing personnel.
- In charge of ensuring that all systems are serviced by manufacturer and/or calibrated in compliance with regulations.In charge of trouble-shooting all equipment.
- In charge of monitoring QC/QA procedures, taking remedial actions under the director's supervision, and ensuring that documentation of all procedures are well maintained.
- Responsible for day-to-day supervision of high complexity test performance by testing personnel, including scheduling workflow, monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations and ensuring that all tests are performed in accordance with the established laboratory standard procedures.
- Compliance with environmental services,JCAHO, NYS DOH, and CAP regulations.
- Responsible for chemical and biohazard materials handling, storage and disposal.
- Retrieves clinical information from Tamtron as needed.
- Participates in validation of new procedures as directed by the Assistant Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five years experience in molecular pathology as a technologist.
- One year experience in a molecular pathology supervisory role.
- NYS licensed as a clinical laboratory technologist.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Biological sciences Plus 2 years experience.
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills preferred.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
