DescriptionSUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Oversee the day-to-day running & maintenance of the mass spectrometry instrumentation for the purpose of applying mass spectrometry to clinical & biomedical problems involving & related to physiological & pathophysiological states
Strong performance as a Tech I and meet the education and experience requirements of Tech II.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES???EM Duties
Perform and or assist the daily electron microscopy work; sample dehydration, sample embedding, resin block trimming, filing and organizing of sample products. Assist with research projects as time allows. Maintain CAP standards in all areas of work with the application of the Anatomic Pathology Quality Management Program. Tissue processing, resin embedding, and ultramicrotomy. Basic understanding of these processes and techniques, and basic troubleshooting. Basic level of electron microscope usage. May image specimens at a basic level on the electron microscope.

Assist with maintenance of various pieces of equipment. Help maintain/order inventory. Keep work environment well-organized. May troubleshoot and/or correct erroneous results or problems with equipment. May provide appropriate safety/quality monitoring checks and document as assigned.
???Policy & Procedure
Understand and apply appropriate polices and procedures for work flow, testing, and/or methodology. Recognize and/or troubleshoot significant findings. May prepare related reports. May provide technical support as necessary.
QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:??? Associates degree in related field. May require clinical license, certification/training
??? 2 - 5 years of work experience in a related job discipline
Preferred:Unique Skills:Experience with Electron Microscopy techniques including tissue processing and embedding, ultramicrotomy, staining and screening on the electron microscope. A solid knowledge of anatomy and/or histology is a plus.
