Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking an experienced Surgical Scheduler for the Laproscopic Surgery Center in Morristown with flexibility to travel to Rockaway or Bridgewater, part of Atlantic Medical Group.
No weekends
Monday through Friday
Responsibilities
Essentiial Functions:
The Surgical Scheduler will schedule surgeries and other ancillary tests as directed by physician or Practice Manager appropriately placing on calendar and scheduled in EPIC Optime in a timely manner. You will:
- Interface with appropriate vendor staff to ensure all necessary equipment will be available on site for hospital based procedures
- Confirm patient's insurance and obtain prior authorization or communicates prior authorization to appropriate parties as needed
- Ensure all required documentation and pre-testing is completed, obtained and reviewed by clinical staff prior to surgery
- Ensure patients have proper medical clearance and pre-surgical testing as needed
- Complete all pre-procedure phone calls and confirm appointment times with patients
- Offices located in Morristown, Bridgewater and Rockaway
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma required
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Prior surgical scheduling experience or prior radiology scheduling experience strongly preferred
- Prior EMR experience desired
- Prior experience obtaining pre-authorizations with insurance companies helpful
