The role you’ll contribute:
The Group Fitness Instructor functions as a developer, mentor, and overseer of the group fitness classes, programs and services they lead/teach. Originates, promotes, implements, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates quality group fitness programs that enable wellness center members/clients to reach their fitness goals. Provides a safe class environment for the members and guests and service members by supporting their participation in programs and activities while promoting member retention. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Greets members and staff with exemplary service, a smile and empathy
• Provides a quality class by beginning and ending on time, prepares lessons in advance, offers classes which are in accordance with the policies of the organization and prepares the design of the class; has music cued in advance
• Provides the appropriate class format for the class being offered
• Supervises each participant for safety during all phases of the class. Professionally corrects participants as necessary
• Conducts self professionally at all times both with members and with staff
• Reports all incidences or injuries using the proper forms and submits to Group Fitness Manager. Follow-up is required by instructors via the Group Fitness Manager’s instruction
• Ensures appropriate coverage of classes in the case of illness, injury, or vacation. Performs off site group fitness classes
• Promotes and provides wellness services at events both on and off site, as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and AED certification
- Current certification in group fitness/health and fitness field from a nationally recognized certifying agency, such as ACE, AFAA, or Les Mills
