Assesses, plans,implements, and evaluates the care of patients in the ED. Promotes teamworkwith physicians, mid-level practitioners and personnel of other departments. Isaccountable for adhering to all standards of emergency nursing care and formanaging supplies and equipment.
Education:
- Graduate of an accreditedschool of nursing, currently licensed in State of New York, orpermittee. Membership in a professional organization suggested.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year Med/Surgexperience required. Minimum of 2 years critical care or emergencyroom experience preferred. One year of acute care experience.Basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Knowledge ofappropriate technology and practice standards for area ofresponsibility. Demonstrates sound clinical skills; knowledge ofHospital structure, objectives and standards of practice, positivecommunication skills.
Training/License:
- NYS Registered Nurse licenserequired, or permittee. Must have successfully completed a BasicLife Support Course, ACLS and PALS. TNCC certification within oneyear of employment preferred.ENPC, andCENcertifications preferred.
