Schedule Details:Hours could start between 0600 - 0900; 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts considered; schedule TBD
Pay: From $27.85/hour base rate (Increases with experience)
What You Will Do:
The Surgical Assistant functions as a member of the surgical team in the role of a scrub person. The SA provides immediate support to the physician during the performance of surgical procedures. The SA understands human anatomy; has developed surgical skills such as exposure, hemostasis, anatomical identification, vein harvesting, wound closure, and proper positioning of the patient for the procedures. The SA must have knowledge of the surgical procedure and ability to anticipated needs of the surgeon.
What You Will Need:
- Graduate of a surgical technologist and a two year surgical first assist program or an accredited NBSTSA/CFA/SA program or military training may be considered
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain upon hire
- 5 years of Surgical Assistant experience in lieu of formal education
- AST membership preferred
- Proficient in Surgical Tech I, II, and III
