Additional Information About the RoleWe are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. In this role, you will work to provide excellent patient care by efficiently and accurately filling and delivering medications across the hospital. You must be detail-oriented and possess strong communication skills. Your responsibilities will include labeling medications, delivering medications to Pyxis, managing medication inventory, troubleshooting Pyxis issues as they arise, completing unit inspections, and helping resolve nursing questions.
Schedule
- Every other weekend 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm
- 1 evening shift per pay period
- 1 Holiday per year

Role Purpose
The Pharmacy Technician - In-Patient II, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, prepares medication orders, and assists in dispensing & transporting medications. This position also conducts sterile and/or non-sterile compounding, uses various automated/electronic systems and maintains the required documentation & records.
Responsibilities
- Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
- Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
- Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
- Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
- Pursues proficiency in compounding sterile preparations and/or other advanced skills.
- BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- <2 years of experience
- State Bd Pharm Registration
- Pharmacy Tech Certification
