OverviewBJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs.
BJC Home Care provides care to thousands of patients in both Missouri and Illinois. Serving more than 25 counties, it has become the largest home care network in the region and one of the largest in the country.
Role Purpose
This leader has 24/7 responsibility for staff within home care to lead clinical quality, education, infection control, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- Subject matter expert and resource within BJC for home care specific education, quality, licensure, and accreditation. Expert on six distinct clinical services with separate accreditation, licensure, quality, & regulations. System subject matter expert and representative for home care on system level councils giving strategic and operational direction to decisions and programs for quality, infection control, safety, emergency preparedness that impact home care and care provided within the community.
- Leads and implements evidence-based practice across six clinical programs. Designs and implements using American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) magnet principles systems and structures to facilitate investigation and adoption of evidence-based practice, research, and education.
- Directs and provides guidance to the other managers and directors within home care on all quality, safety, infection control, emergency preparedness programs and policies. Develops policies to ensure adherence to regulatory and clinical standards.
- BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
- Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing/Heathcare or related field
- 2-5 years of experience
- <2 years of supervisory experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Certification/Licensure in Area of Expertise

- 5-10 years of experience
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience
