Job Summary
Coordinates activities related to assigned staff and/or daily tasks. Picks and distributes supplies and equipment in support of department goals and objectives. Assists in supporting inventory management system. Accurately processes related documents into system and dispatches material to proper destination.
Job Duties
- Supports work flow by coordinating Distribution Center staff to ensure all assigned daily duties are being completed.
- Daily duties may include any Distribution Center activity required to support the hospital-based delivery of care.
- Ensures the proper management of the resources for an assigned area, including procurement, transport, storage, preparation, cleaning, and maintenance assistance.
- Maintains a current understanding of the supplies, equipment, services, other resources, and operations provided by the Support Services departments.
- Assures timely and effective response to department and clinical unit requests and requirements.
- Monitors and responds to activity and/or issues.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining performance metrics which accurately indicate the performance of staff and utilization of resources for assigned work areas.
- Develops new metrics as appropriate or requested by leadership.
- Proposes improvements in efficiency of staff duties / job processes and actively works to implement the improvements.
- Utilizes metrics to drive and evaluate improvement projects.
- Solicits and encourages staff suggestions for improvements.
- Works to promote a team environment and open communication within the work area.
- Acts as a mentor for employees.
- Participates on interdepartmental teams as needed.
- Ensures all assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Provides for a safe environment by taking corrective measures to maintain a neat and orderly work environment in optimal functioning order.
- OSHA, Department of Health, and Joint Commission regulations must be followed.
- Assists the supervisor with disaster response coordination and planning.
Work is typically performed in a warehouse/maintenance or office environment; may require performance of work within clinical areas. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to reach above head, bend, push, pull, stoop and kneel. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
