Qualifications: *Must have a bachelor’s degree in business, philanthropy or related field *Must have at least 5 years as a planned giving professional with experience in a sophisticated development or fundraising operation *Candidate must be able to navigate a wide variety of business and social settings and enjoy taking the message of Phoenix Children’s Hospital to individuals and organizations that are not yet familiar with its work *Ability to work well in team-oriented atmosphere, and lead/motivate donors and volunteers *Ability to effectively multi-task and navigate a fast-paced environment Responsibilities: *Under the supervision of the Senior Director, Planned Giving, the Director will help ensure the fundraising success of Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation through a focus on frontline activity, with special emphasis on creating and implementing strategies for successful solicitations and building strategic relationships with prospects and donors. *Develop and work a portfolio of prospects, as well as providing planned giving expertise, guidance support to other frontline colleagues. *Develop and implement thoughtful strategic cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans for prospective planned giving donors. *Identify and develop joint major and blended giving opportunities in collaboration with foundation colleagues and work towards successful solicitations. *Will help lead in the creation of tools for the Foundation to increase awareness of, and participation in, Planned Giving; includes mailers and marketing materials, annual recognition events, and Legacy Society program. *Identify, organize and direct the efforts of philanthropic volunteers as needed and assigned *Prepare written and oral presentations to potential donors, developing gift opportunities, cultivating and soliciting prospects. *Stay abreast of planned giving trends, opportunities, and related legislation, and provide regular updates to colleagues. *Support and partner with fundraising colleagues in securing planned gifts by providing technical expertise and options, proposal language, and participating in prospect meetings as appropriate.
The Sr Development Officer identifies, develops, broadens, and maximizes philanthropic support from individual and business prospects to increase awareness and support of hospital programs, initiatives and goals through philanthropic giving. This position may have program management oversight, and assists with mentoring team members and colleagues.
Bachelor's degree in business or related field. (Required)

7 or more years of fundraising or sales experience. (Required)
Demonstrated success in prospect identification and relationship development and/or new business development. (Required)
Proven major gift or equivalent large sales process experience. (Required)
Experience with Raiser's Edge/Salesforce or similar industry based customer relationship management tools. (Preferred)
Hospital or healthcare experience. (Preferred)
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) Certification (Preferred)
Proven networking and connector skills. Enthusiastic, good humored, and energetic with a positive attitude and passion for building relationships. (Required)
Goal oriented with a high level of maturity and personal integrity. (Required)
Ability to multi-task with keen attention to detail. (Required)
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software and CRM database. (Required)
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate occasional night and weekend activities. (Required)
