Credentialing Medical Staff Specialist - Full Time
SUMMARY: This position is accountable for the verification and analysis of all applicant information and reappointment information in accordance with The Joint Commission, state, federal, Bylaws and related policies. The position interfaces with medical staff officers, hospital leadership, lead medical staff specialist and department staff. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all information.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: This position requires: A) a High School Diploma/GED; B) a minimum of three (3) years hospital or managed care experience, with exposure to credentialing activities required. One (1) year experience in a medical staff services department preferred; C) demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and duties and ability to work independently and with discretion; and D) computer literate skills with working knowledge of word processing and database operation. Prefer knowledge of medical terminology and NAMSS certification.
POSITION DETAILS: Full time position, 80 hours per pay period. Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
