Clinical Laboratory Technologist – Blood Bank
Full-Time, 8am-4pm | Monday-Friday
You think for yourself. We like that!
As the Lead Laboratory Technologist, you’ll use your judgement, knowledge, and experience to solve everyday problems and make decisions. You’re capable enough not to need permission or direction at every fork in the road; and you’re also willing to consult with others when their informed input is needed. With proper use of our resources, you’ll have the opportunity to provide the highest quality and efficient service to our culturally diverse population.
Who you are:
- You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or one of the physical sciences – Biology, Chemistry
- You have 6 years of clinical laboratory or Blood Bank testing experience working in a hospital, health department, university, or a high-level medical research environment
- You are a NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist, preferably with knowledge of LIS
- You are a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist - ASCP, MT or MLS
What you will be doing in this role:
Collaborating with the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor, you’ll conduct moderate to high complexity testing on clinical specimens in our hospital’s blood bank, including type-and-screens, crossmatch, blood compatibility, and antibody screening. You’ll also prepare packed red cells, FFP, platelets, cryoprecipitate, and various blood products for routine and emergency transfusions; perform quality control on all tests to ensure compliance and follow-up on out-of-range results.
People here know what they’re doing without constant supervision

Our employees are self-motivated, disciplined, and self-reliant. If you’re looking to use your skills in an atmosphere of respect for your ability to do it right, we’re looking for you!
