The Laboratory Information System (LIS) Analyst II is responsible for assisting in the facilitation/maintenance of the laboratory information systems across the Charity System. This position works with the LIS analysts to ensure daily maintenance tasks, primarily the laboratory billing, is performed. In addition, the LIS Analyst II will assist in training laboratory users on the information systems and recommend process improvement initiatives as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes daily laboratory billing issues.
- Monitors and provides resolution of Sunquest, CoPath, and ConnectCare interface errors.
- Troubleshoots and resolves Compass tickets for LIS issues.
- Analyzes data for Covid statistics and Covid billing issues.
- Assists in facilitating the testing and implementation in the market of system upgrades and enhancementsin conjunction with the BSMH LIS team.
- Participates in training super users and end users on the laboratory information systems that include the LIS and any software systems connected to the LIS if needed.
- Assists in maintaining system files on customers, users, etc. to ensure optimal use of the systems.
- Sets up new clients for report distribution while maintaining the doctor database as well as maintaining the Connect Care HIS.
- Notifies the supervisor of any issues or concerns in a timely manner including supply replenishment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Experience:
Previous laboratory experience with Sunquest system experience preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in laboratory sciences. Work experience may be substituted for a degree.

Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
