DescriptionSUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Provision of Clinical Laboratory care through comprehensive services across laboratory disciplines.
CCHMC SALARY GRADE:3
To primarily provide phlebotomy and other lab sample collection in addition to other laboratory support functions in the Clinical Laboratory department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants; children and adolescents.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES???Technical/PhlebotomyPerform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing. Provide education/information and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition. Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research.
???Customer ServiceAct as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs. Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from home unit. Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed. Utilize a customer focus in completing assignments, communicate in a courteous and conscientious manner. Promptly attend to requests and concerns.

QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:??? High school diploma or equivalent
???2 years of Phlebotomy or other relevant Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program
Preferred:???Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification
