Documents routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
Implements appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.)
Follow “lights on” procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process (repeats the physiological and instrument calibrations and instructs the patient on completing questionnaires, etc.)
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Performs equipment cleaning, minor repairs, and reports the need for any major repairs to the Sleep Center Coordinator.

Polysomnographic Trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies or successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state licensed and or nationally accredited educational facility.
Must have current CPR in Basic Life Support.
Communicates with patients and family members’ appropriate education to optimize their care in the hospital.
Manages time and equipment effectively and works as a team member to provide the best possible patient care.
Maintains professional appearance and adheres to hospital and departmental dress code always.
Has daily contact with physicians, nurses, respiratory care practitioners, and other health professionals.
Demonstrates effective written and spoken communication skills.
Demonstrate appropriate social skills.
Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.
Maintains current knowledge of sleep and neurodiagnostic standards to maintain safe, quality and up to date standards of care in the hospital
Minimum of 6 months’ experience

The Polysomnographic Technologist will deliver safe and effective care, which is consistent with the standards of care for this discipline. A Polysomnographic Technologist works under the direction of a registered polysomnographic technologist and the clinical coordinator to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technologist can provide supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee
