Work Hours/Shift: You Will Be Responsible For: - Ensures appropriate pre-op preparation for each patient including monitoring schedule, patient and family communication. Develops standardized care plans with the surgeons for each patient, including needs assessment, pre-op, post-op and discharge orders.
- Conducts daily rounds on in-patients with physicians to ensure desired patient outcomes. Coordinates care issues with the surgeon, hospitalist and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Works closely with Case Management concerning post-op discharge plans.
- Develops and oversees pre-op teaching classes including coordination of teaching materials with the physicians' offices. Implements and monitors the family "coach" program.
- Creates and monitors a measurement tracking system for measuring surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction, identifying areas that require improvement. Provides key statistics at leadership team meetings and to other stakeholders as requested.
- Works in conjunction with clinical educators and nursing staff to ensure competency and understanding of Orthopedics and the proper care and treatment of Total Joint replacement patients.
- Ensures physician satisfaction by monitoring needs, developing relationships and following through with problem resolution, recognition and performance improvement, including regular visits with surgeons' office staff.
- Coordinates patient satisfaction events and educational programs.

Qualifications
What You Will Need: - Must possess advanced knowledge in the specialty of Orthopedics and Orthopedic Nursing, as well as adult education skills.
- BSN
- Must possess a current Florida Registered Nursing license
- Current BLS certification
Job Summary: - The Orthopedic Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of the Total Joint Replacement Program at AdventHealth Ocala. This individual will have the ability to interact with patients and their families, physicians and their office staff, as well as several key hospital departments including surgery, rehabilitation and occupational therapy, nursing, case management, home health and others involved in the care of the patient. Regularly collects data through chart review and computer-generated reports. Presents data and reports to Orthopedic Service Line Committee, Surgical Care Committee and other leadership groups as directed. Monitors selected performance metrics and ensures compliance with all activities required to achieve and maintain an Orthopedic Center of Excellence designation.
