You Will Be Responsible For:

• Assumes 24 hour on-call responsibility for organ and tissue donation activity. Provides prompt response to organ and tissue donation referrals during a 24 hour on-call period.
• Performs thorough patient evaluation for organ and tissue donation. Recognize and understand brain death as a function of donation suitability.
• Provides exceptional customer service to our donor service area hospitals during any onsite visit or response. Maintains cordial and respectful relationships with hospital personnel.
• Coordinates donation huddle to communicate donation action plan to all relevant parties (i.e., hospital and OPO staff).
• When required, discuss donation option with family until Organ Procurement Coordinator (OPC) can arrive onsite.
• Assist OPC with case start, as needed.

What You Will Need:

• Three yearsâ™ experience in a critical care of emergency setting
• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program OR School of Surgical Technology OR Emergency Medical Technician and/or Paramedic program OR Other allied health certification
• Current valid Florida Driverâ™s License Class âœE❠and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy
• Knowledge of critical care patients
• Ability to multi-task

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
• Three yearsâ™ experience in trauma center, emergency care, or other critical care experience.
• Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) experience
• Ability to identify disease processes in potential donors
• Knowledge of organ and tissue donation
• Knowledge of good patient and family care practices
• Computer skills

The Clinical Donation Associate is available to assist the Organ Procurement Coordinator (OPC) with all donor related activities with specific focus on potential organ and tissue donor referral response, donor evaluation, huddle coordination, hospital development activities, daily donation rounds and initial mention of donation (when necessary). This 24 hour on-call position requires the extended work hours, flexibility and travel. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
