Lab Client Service Specialist, Temporary

ProHealth Care offers a system-wide laboratory operation with core hospital labs at Waukesha Memorial and Oconomowoc Memorial as well as two clinic-based laboratory sites in Waukesha County and performs over 8 million tests annually. Our Lab services operate out of state of the art facilities and include clinical testing in the areas of Histology, Cytology, Hematology, Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Microbiology, Transfusion service, EIA, and Molecular Biology. ProHealth Care offers a vibrant outreach program, providing laboratory testing to numerous specialty hospitals, physician offices, and nursing home facilities. We have PhDs on site who work closely with lab employees to monitor quality, identify, access, and implement new technology. The Laboratory has certification and accreditation through the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Joint Commission (JCAHO), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA). Hours: Position will be primarily responsible for packaging of lab specimens for referral testing. Includes significant quantity of Covid-19 swab samples. Position is also responsible for troubleshooting order entry errors, result interpretation assistance, specimen collection questions, manual result entry and QC of referred testing, phone notification to clinical providers for significant lab results, and other laboratory customer service duties as assigned. Two identical positions are available in this role. Proposed schedule is for each 0.5 FTE employee to work 7 days on, 7 days off which is essentially every other weekend. Week 1: 17.5 hours Sunday 8am-4pm, Monday 3:30pm - 8:30pm, Tuesday 3:30pm - 8:30pm Week 2: 22.5 hours Wednesday 3:30pm - 8:30pm, Thursday 3:30pm - 8:30pm, Friday 3:30pm - 8pm, Saturday 8am-4:30pm Depending on relevant prior experience of candidate, should also have availability to train weekdays for approximately 4 weeks Monday - Friday 0730-1600 before being competent to work alone on weekends in the department. Hours may be somewhat flexible depending on operational need and candidate availability. Full Time / Part Time: Part Time with Benefits FTE: 0.50 The Client Services Specialist is a technically trained laboratory professional who provides support to our internal and external customers and colleagues for all laboratory questions and problems. The CSS uses his or her education and experiene in order to provide guidance to providers, nurses, pharmacy staff, phlebotomists, couriers, data entry and billing specialists, reference laboratories, and lab assistants.
