| Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is hiring a full-time, day/night shift Rehabilitation Registered Nurses for their 3 Rehabilitation Units. This position is 3 x 12 hour shifts per week. We are open to acute care Registered Nurses who are interested in making a change in specialty! Our renowned 67-bed inpatient rehab unit has highly trained clinicians utilizing the latest evidence-based technologies and state of the art equipment. With specialty certified clinicians and state of the art equipment, our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to help individuals achieve their highest level of functioning. The nurse to patient ratio on this unit is 5:1. Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is an award winning, 237-bed hospital offering patients convenience and state-of-the-art care in a community environment. Click here: https://www.inova.org/locations/inova-rehabilitation-center/virtual-tours The Inova Rehabilitation Registered Nurse: * The rehab nurse provides hands-on care, coordinates nursing care activities with other members of the team, and identifies educational activities needed to help you progress through the rehabilitation process. Education efforts reinforce skills learned in the therapies as well as focus on the following areas: o Disease or injury specific information o Blood pressure monitoring o Blood sugar monitoring o Skin care o Bowel and bladder management o Medications and treatments o Safety * Provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team. Consistently provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. Incorporates differences into the provision of care. Conducts all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education. * Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Uses an integrated approach toward patient outcomes. * Serves as an empowering body to influence patient empowerment, and successful outcomes of financial and clinical quality, through relationships and access-based knowledge. Utilizes standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery. Determines process for delivery of care from direct patient and family communication, technology, and other healthcare team member collaboration. * Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice. Serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision making and problem solving. * Demonstrates understanding of all rehabilitation regulatory and payor requirements and applies in clinical practice on a daily basis.
