To reduce vendor repair expense, repair and resolve vehicle problems in a timely manner. Develop and execute a Preventative Maintenance Schedule to ensure optimum vehicle safety, performance, and longevity.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Resolves daily vehicle problems as noted by drivers Vehicle Preventative Maintenance report.
Schedules and performs vehicle maintenance for 75+ vehicles and approximately 20 pieces of equipment.
Repairs vehicles and equipment outside the repair shop.
Processes Purchase Requests and Invoices for payment.
Documentation and Maintains Repairs Records of vehicle repairs through in-house work order system.
Maintains a priced inventory of spare & replacement parts & supplies.
P/U and delivery of vehicles to outside vendors for repairs and evaluation of completed repairs.
Performs special assignments, including: severe weather, accident, CCHS functions, and other duties as assigned.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other related duties as required to keep the daily Transportation operation on point.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Three to four years of High School Automotive or Post High School Technical School training.
Five to seven years Repair Shop Mechanic experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
