The Fairview Southdale Hospital is an award winning multispecialty health care system in the southwest Twin Cities metro area. It is comprised of more than 40 specialty services, using innovative technologies and treatments with the art of medicine. This is an evening position, 8 hour shifts, every other weekend. Benefit eligible.
The Health Unit Coordinator/alarm techis the primary receptionist & concierge for the unit. This role crates the "first impression" guests (patients or visitors) experience during their stay from thewelcome & greeting, through thecheck in and discharge process. During the guest's stay this position interacts closely with patients, families, physicians, and the entire multidisciplinary team in a hight organized and professional manner. Ensures the exceptionalpatient experience is achieved by displaying effective customer service, problem solving, and communication skills in a friendly, thoughtful and empathetic manner. Performs a variety of clericalfunctions including: managing patient charts, coordination of data flow and sharing of general hospital information/directions. In the Heart Center this role also serves as analarm tech to our cardiac monitoring as a 4th level of safety to alert staff if issues.
Ensures exceptional patient & guest experience is achieved
Coordinates of the unit to support the patient care staff
Manages medical record and data flow within the unit to support safe patient care processes.
1 + year of customer service experience

2+ years of customer service experience
Alarm tech exposure and knowledge
Ability to deliver excellent customer service in a fast paced environment, effective communication skills,ability toprioritize and multi-task
Understanding of medical terminology
additional skills in keyboarding, computer/PC, Printer, Copier, paging, and multi-line telephones
