Tri-State Memorial Hospital & Medical Campus announces an exceptional opportunity for a proven rural health care finance leader to serve as Chief Financial Officer.
Located in Clarkston, Washington, Tri-State Memorial Hospital is the only not-for-profit, community owned and operated hospital in the Lewis Clark Valley, about 100 miles south of Spokane. The 25-bed, DNV GL accredited, critical access hospital serves a 10-county region in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon and provides comprehensive medical, surgical, emergency, ambulatory care, dialysis, and imaging services with state-of-the-art technology. The medical campus includes Pathologists’ Regional Laboratory, Owl Tri-State Pharmacy, Evergreen Estates Retirement & Assisted Living Community, and the Tri-State Medical Office Building.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for the overall financial operations of the hospital, including financial planning, analysis, accounting, contracting, capital purchases, and budget processes. The Chief Financial Officer will serve on the Executive Council and offer financial expertise to support the executive committee in making strategic operational decisions that will continue to advance the organization and position them as a provider of choice in the community. S/he will be lead a team of 74 employees with 5 Directors over Financial Services, Accounting, HIM, Materials Management and the Admissions Department, as well as the Evergreen Estates Administrator for the assisted living facility.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a history of success in hospital finance, billing and reimbursement, strategic planning and physician contracts in a rural health care or critical access hospital organization. Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are essential to motivate internal teams. The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital setting and a minimum of 10 years in finance and accounting. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required. A CPA or masters degree in business, healthcare or related field as well as experience in LEAN or Six Sigma processes are highly preferred.
